Adolescent Mental Health
By Dr Lizzie Fitzmaurice - FORENSIC PSYCHOLOGIST
This powerful and practical training is designed and delivered by SaferNow’s Adolescent Forensic Psychologist, offering participants a deep and accessible understanding of adolescent mental health, emotional wellbeing, and the frameworks that underpin effective support.
Participants will explore different ways to conceptualise mental health and associated diagnoses, gaining clarity on the structure of local and national mental health services. The course builds confidence in discussing sensitive topics such as self-harm, suicide and psychosis, while equipping professionals with practical tools to promote positive mental health among young people and colleagues.
An optional in-depth module allows for focused exploration of a specific area — such as regulation skills, working with parents, PSHE delivery, or a particular diagnosis — ensuring the training is tailored to local needs and priorities.
