Guest Speaker: Natasha Ahmed-Walsh
Natasha Ahmed-Walsh is the Head of Public Policy for the UK and Europe at Strava. Before Strava, Natasha led TikTok’s Youth Safety and Wellbeing Policy team and served as a Public Policy Subject Matter Expert within its EU Public Policy team.
Join Natasha to explore how young people experience and navigate digital spaces and what this means for those who support them. Drawing on her experience leading TikTok’s Youth Safety and Wellbeing Policy team, Natasha will unpack how natural stages of adolescent development intersect with online behaviour, social connection, and identity formation.
The session will highlight both the opportunities and the challenges of young people’s engagement with the internet and social media from the psychological and social drivers behind their online interactions, to the emerging risks and opportunities that professionals who work with young people, can begin to understand. Natasha will share insights into what effective digital safeguarding looks like today, grounded in research and policy, as well as real-world examples from her time in industry and government.
Participants will have the opportunity to pause, reflect, learn, and share, asking questions and taking away practical advice to help them support young people’s wellbeing in online environments.
