Safeguarding Children: Risk Outside The Home - Level 4

Every young person navigates risks beyond their home environment. This interactive two-day course helps professionals understand, identify and respond to Risk Outside the Home (ROTH) within a Contextual Safeguarding framework.

Practitioners will explore how extra-familial risks manifest—such as exploitation, peer influence, online harm and community violence—and how to intervene effectively. The training challenges participants to “walk alongside” children and young people, seeing the world through their perspective to better appreciate both risk and resilience.

Learners will also develop their understanding of key legislation, guidance and professional responsibilities, ensuring their response to ROTH is informed, coordinated and effective across multi-agency systems.

Upon successful completion of this training, each participant will be awarded a Level 4 OCN accreditation, provided by OCNCredit4Learning
